Lot Details

small jar with a reddish brown body. Of squat globular form with a flat, striated, base, sloping shoulder and everted rim. Two horizontal lug handles set opposite on the shoulder. The exterior dipped in a streaky brown glaze, pooling under the base . Cat. Note/Ref.: The attribution to Vietnam is highly tentative. Neither horizontal lug handles nor striated bases appear to be found in Thai ceramics but are found in early Vietnamese wares.
